Applying To Be A Translator

Whether you have been translating for years or whether you are just starting out, there are hundreds of positions available. If you are thinking about applying for the job then there are a few key things to do.
The first thing you need to do is draw up a CV containing your personal details, qualifications, work experience and references. Remember to include a cover letter so that you can motivate why you think you are the best candidate for the job. Look for a translation company that you will fit in at. Decide whether you want it to be big or small, what type of translating you want to do, which languages you will be translating, whether you want to do transcription or not, and whether you want to work part-time or full-time. Send your CV out to a few companies you have narrowed it down to. If you get the interview make sure you are well prepared.
