03 Jul £240 BOOST FROM SKEL WINDMILL
Several weeks ago we posted an item about the Skelmanthorpe Windmill ‘Battle of the Sexes’.
The club organised an event that took place on Sunday 29 June at their green raising funds for Kirkwood which has been added a massive £240 to the associations Kirkwood fund.

It was a scorching day but the members had rallied around and prepared lots of food for the day and prepared the green and surrounds for what turned out to be a celebration of club bowling at it’s best, and all in aid of such a worthy cause.
The ladies and gents teams lining up ready for battle! The ladies won by 3 points and you can see from the photos that a good time was had by all, and what a magnificent sum donated to such a worthy cause.
Over the last few years the association, in partnership with the Hoyle family, have raised an increasing amount running the John Hoyle Memorial Trophy as our end of season finale and this has become bowling’s community contribution. We hope other clubs will pick-up this challenge and help us beat the 2024 figure of £1250. This is a huge step towards this target, thank you all at Skel Windmill!
