Nearly 70 entries for Lower Division Trophy!

We have 68 bowlers entered into the Lower Division Trophy – a superb response from those who received invitations and from others who have also entered. As planned the competition will start with bowlers allocated to their preferred date of June 13 or June 20 and these are detailed below. Due to the excellent response the planned Finals day (June 27) will now be a further two knock-out rounds with the Finals Day later on in the season on a date to be announced. Once we know the final eight bowlers I will consult with them to arrange a date that is suitable to them all. The alternative to delaying the Final would have seen some bowlers having to play four matches on the same day which I felt was unacceptable.

Bowlers who are bowling this Friday will see their green allocation below. I have still to arrange greens for the following week but I am very grateful to the support of Marsh United and Lindley Lib in agreeing to host the games this week at short notice.

Each venue on June 13 and June 20 will see 17 bowlers allocated. That means one Preliminary round match followed by eight further matches, on June 27 I again will look to use two venues with two rounds played on each green. If my maths are correct then that will leave us with eight bowlers for the Finals day.

I will be updating all results on Bowlsnet so that bowlers at all venues can see the progress of the competition.
