Over 80s First Round Draw

 

WHILST most eyes will be on the outcome of the General Election on July 4 ten bowlers from the Huddersfield Veterans Bowling Association leagues will start their campaign to win the 2024 Over 80s individual competition.

 

 Thirteen bowlers have entered the competition so three bowlers have drawn byes and will not need to bowl until the quarter-finals which will be held on Friday, July 19. They will meet the five winners from the First Round ties on July 4 which will be played at Ravensknowle Park.  Bowlers are requested to arrive at Ravensknowle Park by 1.15pm when the five ties will be drawn.

 The bowlers contesting the First Round on July 4th are:

Kevin McCluskey (Huddersfield Rec)

Gordon Walker (Kirkheaton Con)

Leslie Chadwick (Brockholes)

Baldwin Walsh (Linthwaite Hall)

Peter Clay (Almondbury BC)

Trevor Sykes (Marsh United)

Barry Hinchliffe (Marsh United)

Ray Clayton (Netherton Con)

Mick McCluskey (Waterloo)

Eddie Haigh (Lockwood Con)

The following three bowlers have been fortunate to have drawn byes into the quarter-finals and do not need to attend at Ravensknowle Park;

Norman Hall (Brockholes)

Roy Sutton (Milnsbridge)

Michael Wood (Brockholes)

Details of the venue for the quarter-finals will be announced at a later date.
