Repeat of 2024 Final in Team KO

LAST year’s beaten finalists, Cowcliffe, will have the opportunity to gain revenge over 2024 Team KO champions Longwood when the pair meet at Kirkheaton Con in two week’s time. Longwood won the 2024 final 145-105 while the 2025 final will see the two clubs meet on level terms, both starting from scratch.

Cowcliffe were convincing winners over Lindley Lib A at Marsh Liberal. They overcame a nine-point handicap deficit to finish 132-104 winners in a match that will be remembered for some good bowling in horrible conditions, heavy rain spoiling the spectacle for those watching as well as the bowlers. They won all three pairs matches to go into the interval with a 63-29 advantage.

Graham Sigsworth and Derrick Hewitt were winners, 21-7 and 21-17 respectively, to extend that advantage though the Lindley club had success through Peter Fuller and Peter Thornton.

At nearby Marsh United defending champions Longwood had an 18-point deficit to overcome against Shepley. With the singles on first Longwood went into the break with three wins under their belts.

Andrew Wike, David Walkden and Ian Briggs led the way in the early exchanges while two further wins were recorded in the pairs, Keith Hatzer and Tony Crowther recording a 21-3 success. Shepley’s Nick Johnston and John Pearman recorded their best best success with 21-4 win in the pairs.
