ROUND 4 FIXTURE VS SKIPTON

Round 4 of this years Yorkshire Veterans Inter-District League takes place on Friday 24 June with Huddersfield hoping to continue their winning run against Skipton.

Huddersfield now trail West Riding in the league table with 79 points whilst West Riding, having played a game more, top the table with 102 points. This may seem a big difference at this stage but remember the scoring system awards a total of 56 points for each fixture and if Huddersfield continue their form from the Round 1 and 2 fixtures they should overhaul West Riding when they sit out the last match of the season with a bye.

The home match will be played at Thongsbridge where the green is screaming so an interesting days bowling is in prospect marred only by the possibility of the heat wave breaking and some rain on the day but one thing is guaranteed with the Home team is that it will be an entertaining day.

The Away squad travel to the Rolls Royce ground in Barnoldswick where they’ll need their passports to return to gods own county.

The teams for the day in alpha order are:

Away at Rolls Royce: D Booth, T Butterfield, M Gilbert, E Haigh, D Hewitt, T Poulter, G Senior, R Stopford.  Reserves F Griffin, D Pollard.

Home at Thongsbridge C&BC: A Bamforth, M Cox, B Gibson, E. Haigh, P Hopkinson, P Kain, G Sigsworth, R Swallow. Reserve J Bloomer.

First jacks on the green at 1 pm. Plenty of parking at the nearby tennis club so come on down and give the team some vocal support.
