2024 LEAGUE DIVISIONS & CALENDAR

With all team entries now received the league structures for 2024 have been established.

The total number of teams entered for the 10-man league is again 60. While Bradley & Colne have withdrawn their team (and entered the 6-man instead) this has been counter balanced by Elland WMC join the league. A rebalancing exercise has also been completed which moves us to an equal spread of 12 teams per division.

The 6-man team entries have increased this year with five new teams joining (Brockholes C, Waterloo, Greenhead Park B, Marsh Lib B and Bradley & Colne) and means a very full season of bowling.

It is great to see both the number of teams and bowlers continuing to increase and we look set for 2024 to set a new benchmark surpassing every previous year in the past decade. Looking back at the ten years of information available on Bowlsnet, in 2014 there were a total of 87 10-man & 6-man teams with 1,100 fixtures (albeit the seven 10-man Div 5 teams had to double up and play each other four times) and a total of 1016 bowlers took to the greens. This is the number of bowlers that actually played rather than the numbers registered. By comparison for 2024 we have 101 teams, 1,180 fixtures (with no doubling up) and an anticipated 1050+ bowlers!

The new league divisions are below and details of the 2024 Calendar and Team Handicaps are now available on the website here  2024 Calendar   Team Handicaps
