02 Feb PRESIDENT PAYS TRIBUTE TO JOHN TOWNEND

John has given our association exemplary service with 24 years as club rep for Paddock I&C and the latter ten years on the Management Committee.

His most endearing trait was whilst hosting our committee meetings he always ensured there were biscuits and the kettle was on the boil. Some would say his least endearing, but a most valuable contribution, was selling raffle tickets at our six-monthly meetings and never missing doing so on competition days. Although never taking on any of the officer rolls he was a valued member of the team and always put forward his views.

John has served us well and we thank him for his contribution, we wish him happy retirement from his roll but still hope to see him around the circuit.

Finally, I would like to appeal to any community minded person to step forward and join the Management Committee, our numbers are dwindling and there is a danger that that we may not have quorums for the meetings.
