We bring the curtain down on our 2022 season with the John Hoyle Trophy on Friday 30 September. This will be the second year where the final individual competition takes place at Huddersfield Recreation starting 1.30 pm.

This trophy replaces the Select Players Trophy and is competed for by present and past Inter-District players – the elite players in our league. This year a preliminary round was played on Friday 17 September, again at Huddersfield Recreation, to reduce the numbers to 8 for the final day. The draws is:

Frank Greenwood vs Roy Sutton

Kevin Brown vs Malcolm Gilbert

Garry Senior vs Mick Cox

Tim Poulter vs Frank Griffin

The reigning champion and holder of the new trophy is Mick Cox.

We’re hoping that the Hoyle family will again honour us with their presence. The proceeds from the day will be donated to Kirkwood Hospice and that includes the entry fees and generous sponsorship from Huddersfield Recreation for whom John played for many seasons. Donations will be welcome as will raffle prizes – let’s make it a big one!
