Alan Hirst has stepped down as our President a couple of weeks before he was due to hand over the chain of office to Frank Greenwood at the AGM on 20 February.

This has been Alan’s second spell as President after joining the Management Committee in 2010. His first spell was 2018-2020 and he stepped in last year to steady the ship with Frank Greenwood his Vice President. Alan called Frank and explained the reasons for his earlier than expected retirement and asked Frank to take over a few weeks earlier than planned.

We wish Alan all the best and thank him for his valuable contribution to our Association. He was elected as a Life Member in 2020 so we hope he’ll continue to contribute from the back benches.
