13 Mar Announcing a new competition for 2023

Every season we hear about epic games with players fighting from a long way back to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

We’ll, it’s time to start celebrating those gritty, game winning recoveries and we are pleased to announce the brand new

Well Bowled “Fight-back of the Year” competition for 2023.

Kindly sponsored by Well Bowled – stockists of all things bowling.

With prizes and a trophy up for grabs entry is open to everyone participating in any competitive hvba game, be that league or knock outs, six or ten man, pairs or singles, any game played is eligible.

Every month we will announce a Fight-back of the Month winner and all monthly winners will go forward into the grand final for the overall “Fight-back of the Year” award.

To enter players (or captains/team mates with the players permission)  simply need to grab a photo of the original match day score card on their mobile phone and email it to hvbaFOTY@gmx.com. Please make sure the player names, club and match date details can all be clearly read.  Entries must be received within 3 days of playing (e.g. for a game on Monday, by the end of the following Thursday). All entries will be entered into the monthly round in which the game took place.

Each month a panel will judge the winning person/pair – to be determined not only on the deficit overturned, but also the circumstances such as opposition, home, away or neutral green, criticality of the game/match, handicaps etc.

We will be celebrating the winners and runners up on the hvba website so keep a look out for updates throughout the season.
