22 Jul HUDDERSFIELD TAKE ON TITLE CHALLENGERS
The Inter-District league continues this coming Friday, 28 July when one of the key features will be Huddersfield taking on one of the title challengers, Leeds.
This is the first year that Leeds have entered the competition since 2019, pre Covid and pre the reduction of the age limit to 60 and therefore a completely unknown opponent. However they’ve surprised a few teams this season including West Riding, the reigning champions, and are now one of the nearest challengers to Huddersfield for the 2023 crown.
The home team are playing once again at Marsh United with an earlier than usual start time of 12 noon as Leeds want to pay their respects to a departed member later that day.
The away team playing at Rothwell BC is T Butterfield, M Gilbert (C), Edwin Haigh, D Hewitt, P Hopkinson, D Pollard, T Poulter, G Senior. Reserves R Stopford, J Burnett.
The home team playing at Marsh United are A Bamforth, J Bloomer, R Dickinson, Eddie Haigh, S Haigh, P Kain, G Sigsworth, R Whitwam. Reserve B Gibson.
Once again your support would be greatly appreciated to cheer the Huddersfield team on to greater things, a narrow win isn’t necessarily good enough with other key fixtures taking place the same day and Bradford and West Riding hard on our heels and 56 points at stake.
