Congratulations to Lockwood Con bowler Bob Harper who is our June winner in the Well Bowled Fight-back of the Year competition.

Yet again our judge Nick Blackburn of Well Bowled had a difficult decision to make with some outstanding entries. In the end Bob just got the nod with a fight back from 7-18 down to finish 21-20 in his 10-man team’s recent away match. A terrific come back and all the more so as Bob was recovering from recent major surgery. Well done Bob and all the best with your continued recovery.

Every month a ‘Fight-back of the Month’ award will recognise the player(s) who have made the most impressive recovery to win a game. Entry is open to everyone participating in a hvba game be that league or knock outs, six or ten man, pairs or singles – every hvba competitive game is eligible.

To enter players (or captains/team mates with the players permission)  simply need to email a copy/photo of the original match day score card, details above and on our Competition Entry pages. Please make sure the player names, club and match date details are all clear to read. Entries must be received within 3 days of playing and will be entered into the monthly award competition for the month in which the game took place.

Each month the winning person/pair will be determined on not only the deficit overturned, but also the circumstances such as who were the opposition, was it at home, away or on a neutral ground, the criticality of the game/match, handicaps etc. Winners will be announced each month on the hvba website so keep a look out for updates throughout the playing months.
