26 Jan CHAMPIONS IN HEAD-TO-HEAD CLASH!
DEFENDING Huddersfield Veterans Bowling Association champions Lowerhouses have been handed a home fixture when the 10-man season starts on Tuesday 8th April 2025.
They will face a Meltham A outfit who finished the 2024 season as champions of the Association’s Division 2 competition. Meltham will be looking for a better result than on their last visit to Lowerhouses, they fell to a 6-3 defeat as they headed towards relegation and Division 2 in 2023.
Lindley Lib A, who finished as Division 2 runners-up to Meltham A in 2024, will start their season at home when Kirkheaton Con A provide the opposition. The Cons last visit to Lindley Lib in Division 1 was in April 2022 when they left with a 7-2 victory.
The opening day fixtures have been kind to the clubs who did well in the division last season, with those who finished between second and fourth also handed home starts.
Runners-up Longwood will be hosts to a Rastrick side who finished tenth in 2024.
Third-placed Marsh United A are at home to Lockwood Con A whilst Cowcliffe, who finished fourth, will face Golcar Lib A.
The final encounter on the opening day will see Waterloo at home to Clayton West.
