29 Dec HUDDERSFIELD START WITH A BYE

The 2026 fixtures for the Yorkshire County Veterans Inter-District league have been released and are available on Bowlsnet at https://bowlsnet.uk/YorkshireVets. The season starts on Friday 1 May but due to the fact that there are 9 teams in the league there is a bye on each fixture date and Huddersfield have the fortunate, or is it unfortunate, start to the season with a bye. This means we’ll be playing catch-up all season with our main rivals for the title which we expect to be either Leeds or West Riding, or it could be Halifax who seem to be perpetual runners-up or the improving Skipton team.

The fixtures are:

15th May Huddersfield v. Castleford

29th May Huddersfield v. Skipton

12th Jun Huddersfield v. Halifax

26th Jun Huddersfield v. West Riding

24th Jul Huddersfield v. Wakefield

7th Aug Huddersfield v. Leeds Away

21st Aug Huddersfield v. Aire & Wharfe

4th Sep Huddersfield v. Bradford

However, the blank first date will not be wasted and hopefully all the inter-district team will be competing to reach the final of the inaugural Yorkshire Veterans Merit.
