The stage is set for what must be one of the biggest mismatches in HVBA history when Marsh Libs A team in Division 4 take on the all conquering Lowerhouses team packed with some of the biggest names in bowling.

Traditionally this is one of the biggest finals in our calendar. All 60 teams in the five divisions go into the draw, the format is five pairs and it’s all down to the aggregate score, if tied the team with the most winners takes the trophy. Handicaps are awarded based upon the finishing league positions in the previous year, Lowerhouses who won the Division 1 championship comfortably are off scratch whilst Marsh Libs have a 30 point start after being relegated from Division 3.

Both teams are flying high this summer although Lowerhouses are coming into the match on the back of a shock 2-7 home defeat but they are comfortably topping Division 1 and the championship is theirs to lose. Marsh Libs are in a battle to win Division 4 so won’t be phased with another tough match and have 6 points per game start. Lowerhouses will need wins across the board with a couple of big wins to overturn a 30 point difference.
