And it’s the final final of our 2026 bowling programme bringing two previous winners head to head in the quarter-finals and a good selection of current and former inter-district players in the line-up. It will also be the final competition organised by our Competition Secretary, Paul English, who retires shortly, so your last chance to get your hands on one of Paul’s famous programmes that are fast becoming collectors items.

We mustn’t forget that the traditional finale to the season is the HVBA’s community event when all proceeds from the day will be presented to The Kirkwood hospice. The family of the late John Hoyle, a former president of the Association, sponsor the prize money so all entry fees and proceeds of the mega raffle will be added to generous donations from individuals and Huddersfield Recreation. If you can please bring along a raffle prize and give generously.

And finally, don’t forget there will be some top class veterans bowling on show, I hope to see many of the readers at the home of Huddersfield Recreation – Moldgreen Conservative Club, 1.30 pm on Friday 25 September.
