09 Feb BACK TO BOWLS SURVEY 2021
The results of the survey conducted by the BDA make very interesting reading.

Back to Bowls Headline Data Report
This was a nationwide survey which is still open if you’d like to have your say but over 11,600 responses have already been received and reveal that nearly 90% of respondents are ready to start bowling outdoors as soon as we receive the green light from Boris and our governing body, the BCGBA. By far the majority of respondents are in our catchment area of over 60’s.
Of the thousand or so that weren’t ready to start bowling 1036 were undecided and only 140 gave an emphatic NO.
Although the overwhelming majority voted to return there were caveats that clubs should take on board relating to the safety of their bowlers and visitors.
This is a welcome indication from bowlers across England that they’re ready to take to the bowling green again but we think it will still be some time before we see crowds like those watching in our picture.
Interesting too to see a game of crown green bowls featured in a BDA document. Does anyone know the when and where of the event? Disturbing too to see the ethnicity split of respondents from both the flat and crown green versions of our sport – something to work on!
