29 Sep CONGRATULATIONS – ARNOLD ROBERTS

On Monday 25 September President Frank Greenwood presented a congratulatory certificate to Arnold Roberts to commemorate him still bowling at 90 years-old. The event took place at Marsh Libs where Arnold’s Shepley B team were playing their last match of the season.

Arnold, who is 91 has played  17 games this season, all in the singles. Frank had been doing some research before the presentation and found that Arnold had only been playing in the HVBA leagues for 3 years but on enquiring found that he had in fact played in the Blackburn area previously and moved to this part of the country to be nearer family.

Both nonagenarians agreed that enjoying our regular bowling must help towards our longevity. Before leaving Frank thanked the Marsh Lib team for facilitating the presentation.
