03 Sep GREENWOOD DOES IT AGAIN

Frank Greenwood of Golcar Libs won today’s (3 September 2021) final played at Kirkheaton C&BC.

17 entries from bowlers over 80-years old played down to 4 in two rounds of preliminary matches culminating in the semi-finals and finals played in fine but cool conditions on a green that ran well.

Geoff Firth of Elland C&BC played off 3 against Gordon Walker of Kirkheaton Con who played off 4 and the result was 14-21 to Gordon Walker. Roy Sutton of Meltham played off 3 against Frank Greenwood Golcar Libs playing off scratch and the result was 8-21 to Frank Greenwood.

The final was a tight affair with Frank Greenwood finally winning out for a second time with the 2019 champion Eddie Hine observing affairs.
