03 Jul HUDDERSFIELD PUT THEIR TITLE ON THE LINE

The reigning holders of the Hickson Trophy are Huddersfield and they have their bags packed courtesy of kitman Bob Haigh who recorded the winners at the 2021 final.

This year Skipton are hosting the tournament of the inter-district squads plus Barnsley and Sheffield. Huddersfield’s squad of sixteen is J. Bloomer, M Cox, R Dickinson, B Gibson, M Gilbert (C), F Griffin, Eddie Haigh, Edwin Haigh, D Hewitt, P Hopkinson, P Kain, D Pollard, T Poulter, R. Senior, R Stopford, R Swallow.

Each round is played at different greens in the Skipton area and the full programme is:

First round start 10 am

Match 1 – Castleford v Bradford at Addingham

Match 2 – Barnsley v Halifax at Cononley

Match 3 – Wakefield v Skipton at Whinfield

Match 4 – Huddersfield v Sheffield at Skipton Craven, BD23 1ED (Albion Yard car park) Behind Town Hall.

Semi finals-start asap but probably 12.30 to 1pm

Winner of Match 1 v winner of Match 2 at Whinfield

Winner of Match 3 v winner of Match 4 at Rolls Royce, Barnoldswick, BB18 6HJ Rolls Royce Leisure (from Skipton A59/A56/B6252) THORNTON ROAD.

 Final – start asap but probably 4.30 to 5pm at Broughton Road, BD23 1UP (THORNTON STREET)
