07 Aug HUDDERSFIELD RECREATION
Huddersfield Recreation Club, who’s home green is Moldgreen Conservative Club, are appealing for bowlers who may not be getting regular games or indeed any bowlers who are wanting a change of scene to contact them.
The club currently play in the HVBA 10-man league in Division 4 but were founder members of the Association in 1970 under the ICI Recreation Club banner. Since then they’ve had numerous name changes, Zeneca, Syngenta and Canalside, the latter reflecting their previous home at the current Huddersfield Town training grounds. Their move to Moldgreen was financed by the football club when they became Huddersfield Recreation.
In addition to the team playing in the HVBA league they put 3 teams out on Monday in the Brighouse Veterans league and two teams playing Thursdays in the Halifax league. Membership of Huddersfield Recreation also brings benefits as members of Moldgreen Cons who themselves put out teams in several different local leagues so there are plenty of opportunities for regular bowling.
Aspiring bowlers should contact Alan McCulloch, his contact details are in our current Year Book but we’re reluctant to publish mobile phones and email data on the website due to recent scams. You could address your enquiries to one of our officers who’ll forward to Alan.
