Our Huddersfield Inter-District team is currently lying third in the table on 96 points and breathing down the necks of leaders Bradford on 102 and second placed Halifax on 101 who we play this Friday 14th June.

Playing to an away/home format the away fixture is taking place at Elland W.M.C. and our players are M. Gilbert (captain), D Pollard, D Hewitt, T Poulter, E Haigh, T Butterfield, G Senior, R Stopford. Reserve: A. Cooper. Manager A . Sharpe.

Our home team plays on Meltham No. 1 Green and the players will be: A Carter, P Kain, S Haigh, J Bloomer, R Dickinson, T Cross, G Sigsworth, R Whitwam. Reserve: A Bamforth. Non-playing Captain F Greenwood, Manager D Armitage.

This promises to be a cracker and definitely a season definer for Huddersfield, and equally Halifax. While this writer has great expectations of Huddersfield I’m sure our Veterans League friends of Rastrick BC and the two Elland clubs who play for Halifax will have a contrary view! May the best team win.
