KIRKHEATON CON B vs MARSH UNITED B

The final of the 2026 Subsidiary Team Knockout takes place on Thursday 20 August, 1.30 pm at Broad Oak Bowling Club. The defending champions Kirkheaton Con take on Marsh United.

Although the Kirkheaton team are the current champions and riding high in Division 4 they have a 14 point start on the handicaps compared to 9 for the Marsh team who are mid-table Division 4. The handicaps are issued at the start of the current season based on the finishing positions in the previous year when Kirkheaton were second placed in Division 5 whilst Marsh were mid-table Division 4.

The 2025 final was an all Kirkheaton affair between the Con and C&BC.

The Sub-Team KO is played on the same basis as the league matches with four singles games and 3 pairs games, the only difference being that the final outcome is based on aggregate scores. If the scores are tied the winner is the team who have won most of the seven games. The bottom 28 teams of our five divisions take part whilst the top 32 clubs compete in the Team KO.

At this event the bowling community welcome residents and and carers from Croftlands Care Home who are major sponsors of HVBA. It’s usually a well attended final, the Broad Oak club have a superb green and all the facilities required and cater well for Croftlands. If you’re attending please say hello and engage with our guests.
