LOWER DIVISIONS TROPHY – CALL FOR ENTRIES

The draw and entry deadline for the 2022 Lower Divisions Trophy is Monday 27 June so plenty of time to get your entries in either through this website https://www.hvba.co.uk/competition-entry/ or via your club representative.

The qualifying rounds are on Tuesday 12 July when there are no league fixtures for Divisions 3, 4 and 5 so if you want some bowling that day enter the comp! The final is Friday 26 August. This trophy is specifically for bowlers playing in Divisions 3, 4 and 5 of the 10-man league and all the divisions of the 6-man league. It’s a singles tournament and the minimum handicap you’ll receive is 4 and could be as high as 7. You’re guaranteed you’ll be competing with players of your own level and won’t come up against inter-district players or the regular trophy winners.

Chris Sykes of Slaithwaite is the current champion winning the last-running of the comp in 2019 in the pre-covid era. Outlane Bowling Club have sponsored the competition regularly and in 2019 the total prize money was £185 split between the winner, runner-up, losing semi-finalists and quarter-finalists.

This is the list of previous winners, they’re all stars for entering. This is the comp for the average club bowler.
