26 Aug MORAL BOOST AT END OF DISAPPOINTING SEASON
David Armitage, the Home team manager writes…
The Huddersfield vs Aire & Wharfe fixture on Friday 23 August saw good wins for both home and away teams. The home side won 24 – 4 and the away side won 16 – 12 giving us 40 points which is the biggest win of the season.
The home side had 7 winners and won the aggregate by 52 whist the away side had 4 winners and won aggregate by 13.
Our previous two results against Bradford and West Riding cost us any chance of a top two spot. The league table at the moment bearing in mind that we have a bye in the next round shows.
- West Riding 248
- Huddersfield 239
- Bradford 232
- Leeds 227
- Halifax 224
- Aire & Wharfe 177
- Skipton 167
- Castleford 143
- Wakefield 135
West Riding will win the trophy with Bradford, Leeds and Halifax chasing second place.
Bradford play Leeds which is likely to be a tight game and a big win for Halifax against bottom club Wakefield could see them leapfrog into second place.
