01 Jan New season promises exciting times
The officials and committee of the Huddersfield Veterans Bowling Association would like to wish everyone connected to veterans bowling a happy, successful and prosperous 2025!
We are now heading into the new year knowing that the new season is now in sight. Plenty of work has been going on quietly in the background and the start of the year is a time when we can drop a few hints about what might be in store this year.
League secretary David Sykes and Competitions secretary Paul English, ably supported by President Richard Armitage, Past President Frank Greenwood and General secretary John Pearman, are in the final stages of finalising the structure of the season.
Clubs still have until Monday January 13 to notify David Sykes of their intentions for the new season. David and Paul will then be in regular contact to finalise a plan to take to the management committee the following week. Once that plan has been approved we can start making our intentions public.
We are pleased to announce that in 2025 the first place that you will find any details of fixtures for the forthcoming season is on this website. So, please keep coming back to www.hvba.co.uk to find out those all-important details.
This website will also be the first port of call for all cup draws, though of course bowlsnet.uk will continue to be the main platform for fixtures, venues and results in all league and cup competitions in our 10-man and 6-man environments.
We were unsure 12 months ago on the future of our individual and pairs competitions. These will go ahead in 2025 and for those of you looking for a prosperous 2025 why not enter these competitions which are played in a friendly and competitive environment. Entry details will be announced as soon as possible with the competition entry form being available on this website.
So, there’s much to look forward to in 2025 including some exciting proposals which we will be asking club representatives to vote on at the AGM in February. These involve both league and individual competitions so stay tuned for updates once the voting has been concluded.
