17 Sep OVER 70’S PAIRS FINAL

Thursday 18 September sees the delayed finals day of the Over 70’s pairs at Lowerhouses. The competition sponsored by the late David Hollas of Brockholes bowling club is a relatively new competition in our portfolio having started as recently as 2019 and with a two year gap due to covid this is only the fifth final!

This year the Association changed the format to a drawn pairs comp in an endeavour to increase entries but the result was quite the opposite and therefore reverted to the original format, hence the delayed final.

The final 8 pairs include six plying their trade in Division 1 and a couple of outsiders from Division 3 and Division 5 who must be heartened to see that such a pair won the competition in 2024 overcoming Division 1 opponents at each stage.

For those venturing to Lowerhouses for the first time a reminder that you cannot park next to the bowling green but must park on the nearby roads.
