12 Sep PRESIDENT GETS ONE TOO!

During the summer months Frank Greenwood has been visiting greens to present the associations 90 years achievement certificates to those bowlers who are still bowling at 90 years old.

Last Friday the boot was on the other foot when the writer had the pleasure of presenting such a certificate to Frank himself. The event was at Golcar Libs, his home club where he was participating in the Over 80’s semi-finals, a trophy he’s won a record equalling three times. The day was also the Julie Fuller Trophy final, a trophy that he has taken over sponsorship from the Fuller family who first sponsored the competition in 2001.

After the trophies for the two competitions had been presented I took the opportunity to surprise Frank with his certificate, I felt like Eamon Andrews saying Frank Greenwood, This is Your Life, which indeed bowling is. Not only does he manage to keep the association moving forward but competes at the highest level.
