27 May ROUND 3 HUDDERSFIELD vs SKIPTON

This weeks Inter-District league fixture is No. 3 in the league but only the 2nd match for Huddersfield who face Skipton at home playing at Lockwood Con and away playing at Rolls Royce Barnoldswick BB18 5RU. Skipton have become tougher opposition in recent years and whilst we had an unconvincing win at home in 2025 the team were well beaten in Skipton with only 2 winners, and one of those, Tony Butterfield, is sadly no longer with us.

The teams are, in no particular order:

Home at Lockwood Con, captain Graham Sigsworth, Mick Chapman, Andy Carter, Ray Whitwam, Stephen Haigh, Andrew Wike, Adrian Cooper, Martin Skuse. After an emphatic win in the last round Graham has introduced Martin Skuse to make his debut and Peter Fuller is named as reserve.

Malcolm Gilbert captains the Away team which will hope to go a step or two better than their 5 winners at Castleford in the last round with Garry Senior and Derek Hewitt returning alongside Dave Pollard, Tim Poulter, Andy Lumb, Steve Mallinson and Stuart Greaves with reserves of Ian Ross and Edwin Haigh.

The weather is set fair for Friday and as always support around the green is always appreciated by Huddersfield’s elite veteran bowlers. Start time as usual 1 pm.
