2022 6-man Divison 1 champions Shepley A are seen here at their home ground in proud possession of the McEwan Younger Shield for the second year running. In retaining the shield Shepley were the only Div 1 team to end the season undefeated at home. That said it was a closely fought and exciting competition throughout the year with four teams in close contention at the top of the table by mid-season. But it was Honley Con who best managed to keep Shepley within their sights as the second half of the year unfolded. They remained neck and neck right until the penultimate matches, when Shepley all but sealed their top position with an emphatic 7-0 home win against Lockwood Con, while Honley Con by the thinnest of margins slipped to a 3-4 defeat away at Crosland Moor.
