Section C team Slaithwaite C&BC won the final of the Julie Fuller Trophy played at Kirkheaton C&BC today, 3 September. Marsh United won one on the three pairs matches but with the handicaps of 12 for Marsh and 18 for Slaithwaite it was an uphill task to pull off a win. Neither team had won the trophy in it’s 18 year history.

This year the association changed the qualifying process so each team competing had 4 matches in a maxi league and the top four after 4 matches went through to semi-finals and subsequently today’s final.

The scores were:

Pair 1 – C North & D Earnshaw for Marsh 21, R Bradshaw & C Hey 18

Pair 2 – K Roys & A Hardcastle for Marsh 7, R Gartside & B Slatford 21

Pair3 – D Holmes & J Booker for Marsh 14, S Wood & C Sykes 21
