One of the highlights of the veterans bowling season is the Hickson Trophy, last won by Huddersfield in 2021. Thirteen 12 person district teams compete for Yorkshire Veterans’ Crown Green Bowling Competition, aka the Hickson Trophy after the original sponsors. In 2025 the honour for hosting is held by Sheffield. In addition to the YCCGBA affiliated districts it is customary to invite two South Yorkshire teams – Barnsley and Sheffield.
The competition will revert to a knockout format for 2025 and the draw for the preliminary and quarter-finals to be played on 4 July will be as follows:

The preliminary rounds will start at 10.30 am and the quarter-finals at 1.30 pm. Venues to be determined nearer the time. The semi-finals and final will be played on Friday 11 July 2025.
