CALL FOR ENTRIES – THE SEASON’S FINALE

2024 will see the fourth running of the John Hoyle trophy which has become the finale to the HVBA season. Not only is it the final individual competition of 2024 but it’s also our community event when bowlers come together and raise much needed funds for Kirkwood Hospice – the association, along with John’s family, have raised nearly £1500 over the three previous seasons.

The preliminary and first rounds will be played at Huddersfield Recreation/Moldgreen Con on Friday 20 September and final 8 will compete for the trophy on Friday 27 September where John’s family will once more be in attendance. Closing date for entries is 6 September.

Thanks to the generosity of the Hoyle family all the entry fees will be donated to Kirkwood Hospice and in previous years Huddersfield Recreation have donated a substantial sum. At both the events raffles will be held with the donations donated donated to Kirkwood and last years winner, Gary Foulkes, immediately donated his £100 winnings to the hospice. Gary is seen here accepting the trophy from Jeremy Hoyle.

Raffle prizes would be appreciated and please give generously to the raffle.

The more entries we have boosts the coffers and gives us more scope on the raffles.

Entries will be accepted from the 10-man Divisions 1 and 2 players and the players of Huddersfield Recreation who still remember John fondly. You can enter here on this site at https://www.hvba.co.uk/2024-competitions-page-with-online-entry-form/.
